CM-Glucan Granulate
The repair and defense molecule
CM-Glucan Granulate is a derivative of ß-(1,3) and ß-(1,6) glucan, a natural yeast polysaccharide featuring immune-stimulating properties. ß-Glucan that is isolated from yeast is insoluble in water and therefore not suitable for topical use. Consequently, Mibelle Biochemistry has developed a process to offer CM-Glucan Granulate, a biologically active ß-glucan derivative that maintains the same biological activity as ß-glucan, is highly purified and also water-soluble.
Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the benefits of CM-Glucan Granulate on either very extremely sensitive skin or skin that is exposed to extreme stress, e.g. following esthetic procedures.
ß-(1-3)-glucan purified from the cell walls of common baker’s yeast is a physiologically active compound. It fights infections and is probably one of the most studied natural immunomodulators.
Mibelle Biochemistry has been a pioneer in terms of purifying ß-glucans from the cell walls of baker’s yeast and in modifying the molecule for an improved water-solubility.
In vitro
- Inhibits the release of CGRP (->soothing effect)
- Inhibits calcium influx into sensory neurons (->soothing effect)
In vivo
- Strongly protects skin against dehydration after stress
- Accelerates skin regeneration
- Protects against UV-induced loss of firmness
- Protects skin lipids against UV damage
- Reduces wrinkle depth
